Acupuncture Treatments

Acupuncture is responsible for keeping the energies, chi, flowing in the interstitial fluids of the body. These fluids travel in channels or meridians and they are responsible for keeping the energy of the body expressive through the body. When the fluid and energy is obstructed, then pain and other symptoms may develop. Acupuncturist uses small thin needles, instruments or hands to free up the obstructed blood and chi flow.

What types of conditions are treated with acupuncture?

The World Health Organization recognizes the use of acupuncture in the treatment of a wide range of medical problems, including:

  • Digestive disorders: gastritis and hyper-acidity, spastic colon, constipation, diarrhea.
  • Respiratory disorders: sinusitis, sore throat, bronchitis, asthma, and recurrent chest infections.
  • Neurological and muscular disorders: headaches, facial tics, neck pain, rib neuritis, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, various forms of tendonitis, low back pain, sciatica, osteoarthritis.
  • Urinary, menstrual, and reproductive problems.
